2010 Opening Ceremonies in Downtown Vancouver
Most people will be lucky if they can find any accommodations
in Downtown during the Vancouver 2010 Opening ceremonies. BC Place
is located in Downtown Vancouver beside the communities of Yaletown
and Chinatown and close to the waterfront and seawall. Surrounded
by high rise condos and shopping and restaurants, BC Place is
really the center of entertainment in Vancouver BC. Whether you
have found accommodations in Downtown Vancouver or take the convenient
Skytrain to Stadium Station, it will be convenient for you to
enjoy the 2010 Vancouver Opening Ceremonies.
2010 Ice Hockey in Downtown Vancouver
The Vancouver 2010 Ice Hockey events will be held in Canada Hockey
Place in Downtown Vancouver. You can expect to enjoy watching
your most loved players battle each other in an intense hockey
tournament. Canada Hockey Place or what is usually known as GM
Place is located next to BC Place Stadium. The ideal 2010 rental
accommodations for watching Olympic 2010 Ice Hockey is of course
in Downtown Vancouver. Anywhere in Downtown Vancouver will be
fine but the walking distance locations are in Yaletown and towards
the east end of the Downtown Vancouver core. Downtown Vancouver

well. You can reach the Downtown Vancouver core via several bridges
or main roads including Granville St., Burrard St., Hastings St.,
and the Georgia Viaduct. Of course, public transportation via
the Skytrain or Vancouver’s rapid transit is equally convenient

Downtown Vancouver hotels and private condos
availability
If 2010 Opening ceremonies and Olympic Ice Hockey will be in Downtown
Vancouver than where is the best place to stay? Most people will
normally think that staying in a Downtown Vancouver hotel would
be the best 2010 accommodations. Of course they would be right
for most normal times, however, this is an extraordinary time
for Vancouver. Currently all the Downtown Vancouver 2010 hotels
are booked by the Olympic organizing committee or VANOC as they
require space to house the many athletes, media, and diplomats
that will be attending the 2010 Winter Olympics. This core group
of rental 2010 accommodations will not be released to the public
until late in 2009 and most spectators who have already secured
Olympic Vancouver 2010 tickets will not want to wait and see if
they will find rental accommodations. The alternative is booking
one of the many private rental condos or residences in Downtown
Vancouver. A private 2010 rental condo in Downtown Vancouver is
a private home, usually one bedroom or two bedrooms, that normally
accommodates professionals or small families. Downtown Vancouver
has an abundant supply of single family private rental condos
that are available for rental for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
All of these will be close and within walking distance to the
Vancouver 2010 Opening Ceremonies as well as the Olympic 2010
Ice Hockey venues. As opposed to 2010 hotels, these rental accommodation
condos are available now and are priced at rates that would be
the same or even more economical than an equivalent hotel room.
Of course with a private furnished Olympic condo rental you would
be getting extras such as a full gourmet kitchen and some with
full amenities including a swimming pool and fitness centre.
Best housing accommodations for Vancouver Opening
Ceremonies or Olympic 2010 Ice Hockey
Downtown Vancouver would be your best 2010 rental housing and
affordable accommodations choice for both the Olympic 2010 Opening
Ceremonies and Vancouver 2010 Ice Hockey ticket events and games.
Of course this very high demand location has limited supply due
to all the available downtown 2010 hotels being fully booked by
VANOC. Spectators who already have confirmed tickets to Olympic
2010 Ice Hockey or Vancouver Olympic 2010 Opening Ceremonies need
to work fast to secure the available private condos that are still
available in the downtown Vancouver area. The best furnished 2010
rental accommodations for both these events are walking distance
to a short bus ride. Private housing and investor condos in Yaletown
and Chinatown are walking distance to the 2010 Opening Ceremonies
and Olympic Ice Hockey. As both these events are located next
to the Stadium Skytrain Station and are quite central to most
of the city it will be very easy to get to no matter where you
live. Taking the Skytrain from anywhere in Vancouver will take
you about 15 minutes to get to the events. Taking the Skytrain
from Richmond, the new YVR line, will take you about 20 minutes
to get to the events at the 2010 Ice Hockey ticket events as well
as the BC Place Stadium Olympic Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony.
Taking the Skytrain from either Burnaby or Coquitlam will take
you about 25 minutes to get to the games. As you can see the favorite
way of getting to the games would be walking but if you can’t
get these perfect Vancouver 2010 accommodations then your alternatives
are not so bad.
