Quattro Apartment Homes in Surrey
One of the most affordable presales Surrey condominium
properties released this year is the Quattro apartment condos
in Surrey. The first phase of Surrey’s Quattro condos sold
out in merely a week.
Surrey Quattro Condos Blaze ‘Suspicious’
says RCMP - Update on Quattro Fire
SURREY Real Estate Update on the fire that has engulfed the master-planned
Surrey Quattro condominium residences according to MetroNews:
Investigators are treating a large Surrey fire that flattened
a new condo real estate development as suspicious, Surrey RCMP
Sgt. Morrrow said yesterday. “There’s not yet been
any determination as to the causse or any indication of accelerants,”
he said of Wednesday’s blaze. On Monday, a small intentionally
set fire was lit in the same new Quattro condo Surrey building.
Police have combined both investigations together now. Hundreds
of people, some armed with phot and video cameras, watched the
fire at the new presale Quattro Condominium tower residences in
Surrey BC and police are appealing to the public to provide them
with copies. “That coule pose an absolute key to our investigation,”
Morrow said. The Quattro fire brok out at 4pm on Wednesday, and
took four hours to contain, engulfing the second phase of the
Surrey real estate development at Quattro condos in flames. While
no one was injured, some fire fighters suffered from heat exhaustion.
Developer Charan Sethi said he’s “heartbroken”
over the destruction but vows to rebuild the Quattro Phase 2 Surrey
condo building that has been literally destroyed by the blaze.
“This is not going to hold me down,” he said. “I’m
going to proceed with it as much as I can and as much as the insurance
companies allow me to do.” Sethi says he doesn’t know
if new Surrey Quattro condo homeowners and new home buyers at
Quattro Phase 2 condominiums will have the option to back out,
but is imploring them to “be patient with us.” Maria
C. for Metro Vancouver. The Quattro Condominuims in a Nutshell:
116 condo units, average value of $215,000 each, were lost in
the Quattro Surrey blaze. The second phase condominium building
at Quattro sold out in pre-construction in 67 minutes in March
2007. The low-rise Surrey Quattro condo building was worth about
$30-million. According to the Vancouver Sun, the Surrey Quattro
fire has destroyed a total of 116 housing condos that were under
construction in Whalley's Quattro real estate development. The
building that was completely burned was Quattro Phase 2 residential
apartment building and RCMP officials are still trying to determine
the cause of the fire. On Wednesday, October 1st, 2008, a blaze
engulfed these affordable Surrey condos at Quattro Phase II at
the 107A Ave and East Whalley Ring Road. The other two Quattro
Whalley condominium buildings have remaining unscathed (for Phase
1 and Phase 3 aparttments). According to RCMP, there seemed to
be materials inside the Quattro four storey building that were
set intentionally on fire. The Whalley Quattro fire in Surrey
real estate moved very quickly and RCMP had some troubles handling
the blaze at first, but had it under control relatively quickly.
About five major crime investigators are now working on the Surrey
Quattro fire to determine if a foul crime is involved in this
blaze. The RCMP are calling on witnesses with photos or videos
to come forward as this may help their investigation. The massive
four hectare Surrey real estate development was to add over one
thousand new affordable Whalley condominiums in three phases to
this neighbourhood. There is currently no word as to whether current
presale home owners and pre-construction homebuyers can opt out
of their condo contracts with the builder, but it is certainly
something they can take to their lawyers for review of the Agreement
to Purchase. Right now, the Surrey condos Quattro fire is deemed
as suspicious. The developer is seeking to start Quattro Phase
2 building again as soon as he can and vows to complete the four
storey residential building barring any unforseen insurance problems
coming up. Right now, he pleeds to current pre-sales Quattro home
buyers to have patience. The new Whalley Surrey Quattro fire blaze
is very surprising to say the least.
Real Estate Investors are Locked
into the Quattro Surrey Project
Property developer plans to rebuild the fire-ravaged condo construction
complex in Surrey real estate market. By Jeff H. for the MetroNews
Vancouver regarding the recent Surrey Quattro fire that destroyed
several residential buildings under construction. Investors in
the fire-destroyed Quattro condominium fire in Surrey reale state
market hoping to cash out of the cooling real estate market saw
their hopes go up in smoke yesterday. Charan Sethi, the real estate
developer behind the 1,100 unit mixed residential and commercial
Quattro Surrey property development, told town hall style meeting
outside Quattro apartment homes that he remains committed to the
project and plans to rebuilt. But at least one of the home buyers
said he had hoped that the October 1st fire that razed Quattro
2 condominiums to the underground parkade would allow hime to
get his money back. “The realtor who sold it to us phoned
us up and told us the unit was on fire,” said Claus Sandhack,
following the meeting yesterday. “We were happy. We thought
we’re going to be able to get out.” Claus and his
wife, Carrie, bought a pre-sale Quattro suite in Surrey real estate’s
Quattro 2 building, speculating that its value would increase.
The complex was hyped as bringing Yaletown to Whalley. “It
cost me $308,000. In two years is it going to be worth $200,000?
A $150,000?” Other home buyers, however, were more optimistic.
Noel Hardy, who purchased a pre-construction Whalley Quattro 2
condo as a Surrey real estate investment, liked what he heard.
“We’re here for the long haul. We’re going to
stick with this developer… this area is going to be very
attractive moving forward.” Meanwhile, the RCMP are investigating
the cause of the Surrey Quattro 2 condo fire, the second at the
site in less than a week. Developer Charan Sethi said he didn’t
know when the buildings would be completed, especially the rebuilding
of the Quattro 2 condos, but said he would have a better idea
in 10 days to three weeks.

out at this time. However, the real estate development team will
be releasing Quattro Phase 2 condominiums very soon so stay tuned
for the sales launch date and events. A frenzy of activity surrounded
the launch of Phase 1 condominium sales at the Quattro residence
apartments in Surrey British Columbia earlier in the year, with
many of the units selling out on opening day of the sales launch
event. For all the latest Quattro News, you can visit the following
URL link for articles that feature this Surrey presales real estate
property and what you can look forward to in Phase 2: http://www.quattroliving.ca/news/.
The news media centre feature a Globe and Mail article about Surrey’s
Quattro apartment residences called “A whiff of Yaletown
Suburbia: North Whalley real estate project offers up chic affordability”
in addition to a News Release from Quattro titled “Unprecedented
demand leads to one day sell out of first building in Surrey’s
largest urban redevelopment.” Priced from under one hundred
thousand dollars, the Surrey Quattro apartment condominiums have
become the most affordable property in presales and pre-construction
this year in the North Whalley area and for the Greater Vancouver
city as a whole. Although the Quattro apartments would be a great
real estate investment opportunity for anyone in Vancouver, many
of the buyers on opening day Phase 1 were actual home buyers who
were looking to get into the market as the prices have jumped
exponentially over the past decade. The Surrey Quattro condos
gives first time homebuyers and young professionals a chance to
get into real estate and to own their own home.
